Welcome to Re:Visions

Welcome to Re:Visions. This will serve as a catalog of images I have scanned and hand restored from original photographic prints. All the images on this page come from original photographic 8x10 prints. The prints were part of a railways public relations archive and were given out to publications requesting specific images, or when an individual needed a specific image for educational or promotional activities. The prints themselves date back as old as the early 1940’s.to as early as the 1970’s, while the content is primarily from before 1960, and many date back to the mid to late 1800’s. When the archive service was dissolved in the 1970’s this collection of prints was culled from a much larger collection that included rolling stock and stations. After being kept in storage for 30 years, I decided to begin scanning and restoring them. Each image is scanned at 1200 dpi, resulting in a general image size of  12000x9600. Each is stored as a JPEG with minimum compression, so files once restored vary between 20 and 60 meg EACH as a Jpeg file. Downsized samples of each image can be seen in the catalog, and true photographic prints starting at 8x10 made from the full resolution images can be purchased using the link to PURCHASE. Prints for sale are true photographic prints on Fuji archival paper, not inkjet or laserprinter copies on glossy paper. Actual printed images are 48 megapixel continuous tone photographs made on a Lightjet digital imaging system. Sizes available start at 8x10 for 10$ to 30x40 for 70$ and are available in either gloss or matte finish. Some sizes can be purchased with a lustre finish which has the advantages of both gloss and matte. For grins I have included some items usch as T-shirts and mugs for purchase as well.
